RIARP Fall 2018 Meeting
We will be having our fall meeting on November 5, 2018 at 6:00 PM at Gregg’s Restaurant in WARWICK.
This is one block north of the intersection of Route 37 and Route 1. To get there from Route 95 just take the Route 37 Exit East and go all the way to end and you will loop around and be heading north on Post Road. Go under Route 37 and on the left hand side you will see Gregg’s Restaurant.
We will have one of three semi-private areas located in the restaurant. They vary in size from comfortably seating 10 to seating more than 15. Therefore we need to give the restaurant a count of who is coming either by Sunday, November 4 or the morning of November 5. While there is no admission charge to attend the meeting, you can order a meal off of Gregg’s extensive menu at your own expense.
The preliminary agenda includes a report on the NARP Fall Meeting in Miami which takes place next week. I hope to have some pictures from the event to liven up the talk. There may be additional news on the Federal DOT Appropriations as well as up to date report on Amtrak’s Activities. The ground breaking for the Pawtucket/Central Falls commuter station is supposed to occur this fall, so there hopefully will be some news to share along with any other rail projects in Rhode Island. Last, I should have a better idea of when the NARP Annual New England Membership Meeting will take place and where. TrainRiders Northeast is hosting the event.
So when you decide to attend what should be a fun evening at a decent restaurant, please email Steve Musen at musensth@cox.net to confirm attendance. If you are bringing your better half or if you have a guest who would be interested, be sure to include that in your email.
